Full Time (Permanent)
Monday to Friday - 7 hours/day
Edmonton, Alberta
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Bigstone Cree Nation clients requiring internal/external information, advocacy, supports, and resources.
- Connects clients to appropriate internal/external organizations and provides follow up to ensure the clients needs are met.
- Conducts research in community resources and supports throughout Canada.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with individual clients, families, communities, providers, and organizations.
- Responds to inquiries from service providers regarding available resources and referral processes through offering information and/or direction.
- Collect, record, and analyze data.
- Maintains accurate record keeping, prepares reports, and presentations as needed.
- Provide coverage for Health Benefit Adjudicators.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to speak Cree is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to learn and utilize innovative technology.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess excellent people skills.
- Possess advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite & database management.
- Must be comfortable with conflict resolution.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Knowledge of Indigenous communities, history, cultures, and challenges.
- Knowledge of the Non-Insured Health Benefits program is an asset.
- Postsecondary education (Diploma or Degree) related to Health Administration, Social Work, Human Services and/or equivalent.
- 25 years' experience in Resource Navigating and Social Support is an asset.
