A lead hand is responsible for overseeing a group of workers assigned to them, ensuring all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.
They are in charge of coordinating work across multiple areas and ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times.
This professional also makes sure that all project goals and time frames are met, as well as prioritizes tasks as necessary.
The lead hand answers directly to their supervisor.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to safe work practices.
- Full accountability on fill rates.
- Must understand production potentials and yield gaps.
- Maximize the use of available resources.
- Understands the receiving protocol as per HACCP program.
- Must understand food safety guidelines.
- Guarantees ontime delivery standards.
- Maintains a high fill rate performance.
- Deliver the customer experience.
- Operate all equipment as per expectations.
- Meet with direct supervisor (daily).
- Reports any deviations and/or personnel issues to his/her direct supervisor.
- Plan and execute production to fulfill all regulatory as well as SQF requirements.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Lead Hand Responsibilities if Supervisor is away:
- Plan runs and prioritized orders vs stock.
- Complete ICP Lead Hand training.
- Conduct weekly huddles for his/her staffs under their own department.
- Resolve work problems and any deviation from their own department.
- Attend daily morning huddles.
- Plan and release the raw material usage.
- Update orders and inform seafood labor (Inventory what is required).
- Coordinate production flows.
- Verification of all documents completed.
- Enforcement of start times and break schedules.
- Maintain 99.5 % fill rate and manage all on hand inventories.
