Position Summary:
Reporting to the Information Systems Manager, the Maximo Business Analyst is responsible for providing user support & training, triaging issues, working with support vendors on fixes and enhancements, performing minor changes & configurations and managing licensing.
Responsibilities:
- Functions as a Maximo "Super User" with knowledge of Maximo functionality and its integration points to provide guidance/desk side mentorship to NWR users;
- Tier 1:
- Answer ad hoc questions / how to
- Perform troubleshooting
- Assist in support ticket creation
- Tier 2:
- Look behind the scenes of issues (functional level) to provide user assistance
- Research answers to user queries
- Triage of issues:
- Determine if errors are user or system based
- Assign priority
- Determine if issues/changes go to vendor or are performed in house
- Create and assign Service Now tickets
- Delivers Maximo training as required to develop staff in changing roles or onboarding new employees/contractors;
- Assists System Administrators in the management of security groups, permissions, role assignments
- Create bulk data load files for Maximo data
- Review bulk data for validity/correctness
- Script bulk changes / Create other scripts / triggered jobs
- Support Vendor Management;
- Manage tickets (due dates/priorities)
- Monitor monthly pool of support vendor hours
- Plan and manage releases
- Create work packages for support vendor
- Maximo licensing compliance;
- Monitor license usage to ensure no overages
- Recommend changes to licensing structure
- All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical staff and management;

Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of APM software and how it supports CMMS systems, knowledge of Primavera P6, Maximo reporting with BIRT/Cognos and SQL queries and Document Management Systems;
- Previous experience in the Maintenance & Reliability environment; proven experience in areas of EAM or CMMS system implementation or sustainment.
About NWR:
The North West Redwater Sturgeon Refinery is the first refinery built in Canada in over 35 years.
The only refinery designed from the outset with a carbon capture solution, it uses leading technology to maximize performance and minimize environmental impacts.
Phase One of the world class bitumen refinery in Alberta's industrial Heartland, is designed to process approximately 79,000 barrels per day of diluted bitumen from Alberta's oil sands into much higher value products.
This includes low-carbon ultra-low sulphur diesel, vacuum gas oil, diluent, and natural gas liquids.In addition to greenhouse gas emissions mitigation and the ability to produce lower carbon products from carbon capture, the Sturgeon Refinery is raising the standard of environmental performance for refining.
Through deliberate choices in facility design and operations, the refinery has increased efficiency and reduced environmental impacts on air, water, and land.
