The
Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario's capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act.
The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.
This mandate is performed through policy, operational, adjudication and enforcement work. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development.
Securities regulators from each of the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada have teamed up to form the
Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is a voluntary umbrella organization of Canada's provincial and territorial securities regulators whose objective is to improve, coordinate and harmonize regulation of the Canadian capital markets.
The CSA operates, through various agreements, a number of shared information technology systems that serve securities regulatory purposes and functions.
The operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the CSA National Systems are managed by the CSA IT Systems Office which is co-located within the premises of the Ontario Securities Commission.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Product Owner of the Market Analysis Platform (MAP) develops the roadmap for the MAP system.
This role will develop a product strategy that incorporates business value, product fit, and where the industry is going and will evaluate product progress against the roadmap and adjust as needed.
The Product Owner must integrate new technologies, anticipate current and future customer needs, enhance user experience, and integrate the next generation data sources.
Your intimate knowledge of trading in capital markets will allow you to serve as a credible product expert and determine the optimal MAP trajectory in this role.
You must be a leader in your field and possess excellent communication skills to inspire trust and co-operation with all stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Form part of the Leadership team and be delivering in an Agile transformation environment while providing coaching and mentoring to build maturity across the product working team.
- Own and execute the product roadmap and translate roadmap features into welldefined product requirements, features, user stories and acceptance test criteria.
- Engage with customer leads to elicit requirements, influence direction and align expectations.
- Interpret business and technical needs and translate them into themes, epics and user stories.
- Document clear and concise product specifications and work with vendor to confirm functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- Prioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for MAP, while balancing the requirements of stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the CSA architecture team and review the data and technical architecture, advanced data modeling and profiling, and ensure that the architecture is prepared to meet the current and future system performance.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as IIROC and the brokers to identify and remediate any data quality issues and oversee the service providers to uphold progressive quality benchmarks and standards (e.g. BCI1 to BCI3 for broker data).
- Own the user experience and work with userfocused departments to set expectations on requirements and usability.
- Work with the CSA ITSO team in managing the vendor and providing input into operations
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, evaluate project/product progress, outline milestones and deliverables, and communicate status & risks appropriately.
- Be skilled at mediation, problem solving, and balancing product features, costs, and time.
- Lead teams in an Agile environment, promoting Agile values while continuously reviewing business needs.
Skills Requirements:
