Job Description:
La French Taste, new French bakery and patisserie located in Edmonton, is seeking a motivated Head Pastry Chef to join our team.
As a key member of our culinary team, the Head Pastry Chef will be responsible for supervising the pastry section and collaborating with the manager to create new and innovative pastry offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Overseer the daytoday operations of the pastry section, including production, quality control, and inventory management.
- Lead and motivate a team of pastry cooks, ensuring the company standards.
- Collaborate with the manager to develop seasonal menus and introduce new pastry items that align with our brand identity and customer preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Train staff on pastry techniques, recipes, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality standards:
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques and ingredients into our pastry offerings.
- Manage pastry orders and communicate with managers about the groceries.
- Actively participate in team meetings and provide input on strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a pastry chef, with knowledge or head pastry chef.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Creativity and passion for pastry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to work early morning, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Salary:
$20.00-$23.00 per hour
