Specialist is accountable for the administration and maintenance of the VSY Quality Management System.
This includes ongoing assessment to ensure that it continues to meet the objectives of both the Seaspan Shipyards Quality Policy and Quality Management System manual and works to address identified deficiencies.
Focus of this role will be on planning and conducting regular audits to address organizational risks, driving corrective action closure and process improvements, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standard. This role reports to the QA Supervisor.
Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

Maintains baseline quality metrics, and customer quality report deliverables.
Coordinates and maintains the quality management system within Vancouver Shipyards by monitoring, reporting, and administering actions which prevent the occurrence of non-conformities and communicates the requirements and procedures to all employees.
Manages closure of NCs as lead approver to confirm implementation of corrective actions and supporting OQE.Mediates between departments for any issues pertaining to investigations and OQEs and leads Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions for internal customers.
Project lead for QA continuous improvement projects.Creates, facilitates, and participates in Quality process training across the organization.
8-10 years' experience with complex engineering projects involving diverse stakeholders or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
~ Technical degree with experience in Quality Assurance.
~ PMP certification is an asset.
~ Experience with Intelex software is an asset.
