We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team and lead the accounting department of our owner company, EastGen.

Reporting to the General Manager of EastGen as well as liaise with the Chief Financial Officer of Semex, this role will be actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations for EastGen.

This role will provide input on structure, work processes and will be directly involved in the ERP integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full cycle accounting and customer credit management
  • Provide leadership and management to the accounting team (34 people)
  • Manage EastGen's cash flow position
  • Prepare and report the monthly financial statements with commentary
  • Manage the annual budget process
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are maintained in line with best practices
  • Monitor finance and accounting functions to optimize efficiency
  • Prepare the annual audit file for EastGen and work with external auditors
  • Participate on Board Committees as required, and support the General Manager and EastGen Board through timely and effective financial analysis, reporting and project work
  • Liaise with banking partners, insurance company, CRA, external auditors, corporate legal counsel and government representatives as required
  • Liaise with corporation's investment portfolio manager and report on portfolio performance
  • Financial and business analysis including identification of cost behaviours and cost drivers

Qualifications:

  • University degree and CPA designation
  • 5 years of relevant seniorlevel experience
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on talent development
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Organized with an ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Experience implementing an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or other complex ERP is an asset
