The Opportunity
Join the leadership team of Manulife Bank to enhance the financial experience of Canadians. As the head of our product engineering team, the AVP, Technology, Manulife Bank, plays a crucial role in developing and supporting technology strategies that align with the bank's objectives. Working closely with the Canadian Division Technology (CDT) team and Manulife Bank Leadership, the AVP will be a key figure in implementing technology solutions to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
This dynamic leadership position is responsible for managing key technologies, including:
- Full Product Development Lifecycle
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- New Business Modernization Projects
- Bank core systems and surrounding capabilities
- Lead architecture, API and data strategy
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Technology Development
- Lead the development and delivery of large-scale technology solutions that add value to customers and align with Manulife Bank's business objectives
- Ensure alignment of technology strategies with industry changes
- Manage the deployment of efficient and secure technology solutions
- Act as a technology thought leader for the business
- Stakeholder management and collaboration for enterprise-grade solutions
Operations and Compliance
- Oversee all aspects of technology for Manulife Bank
- Ensure platform compliance with regulatory frameworks
- Establish operating budgets in line with financial goals
People Leadership
- Create a culture focused on growth, customer care, and employee engagement
- Inspire and develop employees for top performance
- Drive talent capability and foster collaboration

- 7-10 years of leadership experience in technology strategy
- Experience in leading digital banking teams
