Acadian Seaplants Limited has an immediate Co-Op requirement for a IT Systems Analyst based in Dartmouth, NS.

You will be the liaison with business and technology stakeholders to advance business transformation projects including mobility, web, system replacements and reporting integration.


Your Role:

  • Participate in one or all the following IS initiatives: Development of Internal Sharepoint expansion; PowerBI management reporting roll out; IT Service Solution. Ensure delivery of business requirements and adoption of best business practices, and efficient phased deployment across the global organization.
  • Document current and future state processes, business requirements, test preparation, and training requirements.
  • Work closely with business and technical staff to formulate business cases, collect and establish requirements, perform assessments, prepare and present recommendations
  • Perform workshop facilitation and stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide input to enhance established practices and facilitate adoption of best business practices.

OTHER SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with documentation and execution of test cases.
  • Lead user acceptance testing.
  • Identify and plan business team and enduser training as required.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects.
  • Act as a technical resource for business partners to research system issues and ensure deliverables meet business and enduser requirements.
  • Ensure proper security measures have been evaluated and implemented as indicated by company policy and/or best industry practices.
  • Translate user needs into system requirements with demonstrated skill in presenting information in an effective and understandable manner.
  • Support the company's vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture, and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership towards meeting the company's objectives in these areas.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Currently in a Bachelor's degree program (preference to Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Commerce/Business) or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing complex problems and making recommendations.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint, PowerBI, is an asset
  • High energy, resourcefulness, flexibility, adaptability, and sense of urgency.
