Machinist Journeyman or 3rd - 4th year Apprentice Machinist

  • Must have manual machining experience with some CNC*This position is not for someone with just CNC experience.
Responsible for using machine tools to make or modify parts, primarily metal parts.

Duties may include

  • Setsup and operates special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers for fabrication of metallic and nonmetallic parts.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or outoftolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Operation of manual and CNC lathes, manual drill presses and manual / CNC milling machines
  • Measure and perform calculations
Education

  • Typically has Journeyman (M/F) level Certification or equivalent experience with 47 years of trades experience

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Machinist role
  • 3rd of 4th year apprentice or journeyman
  • Overhead crane training an asset
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must be quick to learn new skills
  • Strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements

  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs fitness test required
  • Standing on your feet for a long period of time
  • Have good eye to hand coordination
  • Be able to bend, crouch or kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear most of the day
Working Conditions

  • 99% working indoors in a temperature controlled, well maintained facility
Shifts

  • Days Monday
  • Friday 7:00am 3:30pm
  • When our shop is busy, overtime is scheduled and expected
