The Faculty of Health Sciences ((FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.

The Faculty has developed an aggressive and innovative strategic plan to achieve its vision to be a world leader in research and education in health.
Responsibilities:
The Technical/Research Support 1 will be responsible for carrying out research functions in collaboration with principal investigators, staff, and students.
- The imobile Driving Research Lab, under the direction of Dr. Liliana Alvarez, exists to uncover the fitness to drive, driving performance, active transportation, and community mobility challenges experienced by atrisk populations across the life span; and develop collaborative and innovative solutions to overcome them. By integrating multiple methods of inquiry and through an occupational lens, the iMobile Driving Research Lab dares to imagine a world where driving and community mobility enable life, not restrict it. As part of this overall aim, our current COTF funded project involves the development of framework for positive driving retirement conversations between healthcare professionals and older adults.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Community College Diploma OR Undergraduate Degree in a related field
Experience:
- 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
- Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
- Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve issues
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
