The Opportunity:

For the upcoming academic year, we are looking for a Science Teacher to join our Senior and Middle School on a part-time basis for 5 months. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching Science in Senior and Middle School, specifically with students from grade 7-10. In a community where social-emotional learning and diversity, equity, and inclusion are top priorities, the successful candidate will demonstrate empathy, creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with students and colleagues. The chosen candidate will be part of the Science team reporting to the Instructional Leader.

Responsibilities:

Creating a supportive class environment focusing on social-emotional learning; Motivating students to develop necessary skills for further education; Building positive relationships with parents, faculty, and staff; Ensuring curriculum alignment with IB and Ministry guidelines while fostering inclusion; Developing culturally relevant science curriculum for diverse learners; Creating course outlines, unit plans, and lesson plans integrating IB programs; Keeping records up-to-date and communicating with stakeholders; Staying current on best teaching practices and subject area knowledge; Actively participating in meetings, professional development, and co-curricular activities; Mentoring students as an Advisor;

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree specializing in General Sciences; Teaching certification with I/S qualifications in General Science; Minimum three years of teaching experience; Experience with IB is beneficial; Strong curriculum development and assessment skills; Familiarity with technology and online teaching tools; Commitment to DEI principles in teaching; Belief in and alignment with the institution's mission and values; Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
