Senior Data Engineer
Exciting Opportunity
Join our team as a Senior Data Engineer in Insurance Data Engineering Services team within Insurance Technology. Your main responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and supporting Data Engineering solutions and processes in multiple Agile Labs. We are seeking an enthusiastic data management professional with expertise in data architecture and engineering, strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to multitask effectively. This role requires a positive attitude and a strong sense of accountability for achieving results.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive view of Insurance client and policy data in Insurance Common Client application, managing data flow and interfacing with other applications.
- Collaborating with agile teams and stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop appropriate data solutions.
- Designing, developing, and supporting batch and real-time data pipelines, and identifying opportunities for enhancements and optimizations.
- Participating in design and code review sessions to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
- Working closely with the Support team to ensure the smooth functioning of applications in production and pre-production environments.
- Applying agile principles and DevOps practices while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards and guidelines.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience customizing IBM Master Data Management (MDM) with a focus on business transactions, behavior extensions, and database management.
- 2+ years of Java development experience, with at least 1 year using Java Frameworks like Spring (MVC, Security, JPA, and/or Boot)
- Proficiency in IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server, including data modeling and optimization techniques
- Strong collaboration and adaptability skills, with a proven track record of coaching and mentoring.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a quick learning mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with tools like Kafka, mQueue, Maven, OpenShift, Dynatrace, Postman or SoapUI, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Apigee gateway, Vault
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Helios pipeline, Checkmarx, SonarQube, Aqua, Nexus IQ, Jira, Confluence, Mural
- Background in the Insurance and/or Financial Industry
