This team creates and maintains our design system (web and mobile) to enhance our stream-aligned teams' capabilities and Jobber's scalability.
We use our frontend engineering superpowers (interaction, visual, and prototyping skills) to ensure a consistent and predictable look & feel across Jobber.
Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, as a Senior Software Engineer you will collaborate with other Software Development members on a Scrum team to build reusable solutions and an industry-leading product that helps our customers and their small businesses be successful.
In this role, it's important that you're a champion of best practices for well-tested, scalable, and well-organized code.As a Senior Software Engineer, Atlantis you will:
Build out our core design system to help engineers be able to build faster and more consistently, for both mobile and web products
Research, communicate, and advocate for the use of Design Systems' best practices across Jobber's engineering organization
Participate in code review and testing, while driving engineering solutions to have consistent practices and reusable code
Mentor and coach junior teammates, helping them elevate their skills and careers
Demonstrated front-end focused software engineering expertise on mobile and web in a production environment
Experience with Native app development (iOS & Android), using React, React Native and Typescript (Java/Kotlin)
Strong understanding of common front-end software frameworks, architectures, technologies and patterns
Experience working closely with designers to develop (or contribute to) an organizational Design System
Experience integrating with GraphQL API (or other modern API query language/technology)
Experience with the entire software development lifecycle in the Agile/Scrum framework
The ability to self serve, take initiative and find resources necessary to accomplish a project or solve a problem.
Experience with Ruby on Rails and modernizing front-end implementationsA dedicated Coaching and Development function, including Development Coaches, to help build the career you want and hit the goals you set, while ensuring you're reaching your fullest potential.
