Job Summary:

  • Collaborate, support, and help coordinate the implementation of the Indigenous Inclusion Strategy
  • Implement associate engagement strategy in partnership with DEI team
  • Indigenous History Month activation of communication and programming in partnership with the ARG and Sr. Specialist DE&I
  • Writing: DEI brand stories (myApron stories), social media messages (internal platform Yammer)
  • Data Visualization & Storytelling: create infographics, support framework to spread inclusion across HD Canada
  • Attend internal and external online events on DEI topics including knowledge sharing, networking, and upskilling opportunities, and provide a report back to the larger team to support learning and development.
  • Develop content that aligns with the communications plan and working cross functionally with communication specialists and DE&I Sr Specialist.
  • Contribute to the development of an ongoing inclusion discussion on Yammer, track participation on all channels including roundtables for Q2 2023

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Currently pursuing a university and/or college education in Indigenous studies, equity studies, social justice education, human rights, or a related field of study will be considered a preferred qualification.
  • Collaborative, open, and creative approach to problem solving and a willingness to respectfully engage in challenging conversations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to develop strong relationships, engage diverse viewpoints and approaches, and exercise a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
  • Working knowledge of DEI learning competency an asset
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project Management principles
