Bothwell-Accurate is looking for an
Health and Safety Administrator to join the Health and Safety Department team in our British Columbia location.

The Administrator will provide administrative support to the Health & Safety Manager and Health & Safety Coordinator to assist with the maintenance of the requisite policies and procedures that are consistent with WorkSafe BC, The Workers Compensation Act, and all other related laws, codes, rules, and regulations.

The Administrator will be responsible to achieve individual goals/objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

Training:

  • Prepare the required handouts for all new hire orientations and training sessions.
  • Update and maintain training records via Site Docs, One Drive, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Print training cards for any training courses delivered inhouse, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Fit testing.
  • Booking of training required by 3rd party providers.
  • Starting to assist with orientation training for new employees, WHMIS.
  • Prepare new hire employee training files (hard copies, soft copies, digital) ensuring payroll and benefits managers receive copies.
  • Sign/witness all electronic onboarding documents.

Responsible for maintaining records:

  • Run monthly reports (inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox) ensuring all required documents are sent to General Contractors as required.
  • Track and file safety documentation of subcontractors.
  • Ensure all equipment requiring annual engineering inspections is up to date (lifting devices, kettles)
  • Taking of Safety Committee Meeting Minutes and distribution of these and Safety/Foreman
  • Stand Up Meetings with required parties.

Job site Start-up:

  • Ensure files created for all new project startups (one Drive) consisting of uptodate Safety information including Safety Data Sheets, Employee training cards, and Safe work practices/safe job procedures.

Monitoring company vehicles:

  • Transfer vehicle info from folders into VIP Fleet management
  • Updating Fleet equipment log
  • Review monthly vehicle inspections and scheduling of maintenance as needed and directed.
  • Electronically file all accident information.
  • Follow up with the insurance carrier on reporting of repairs.

Inspections:

  • Monthly Fire Extinguisher
  • Monthly Emergency Lighting
  • JHSC shop/office Inspection
  • First Aid Kits
  • Eye Wash Stations
  • Inventory of PPE and ordering as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education.
  • 2 years of experience in a Health and Safety Role or equivalent administration experience
  • Valid drivers' licence
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
