In-House Service Technician, Surgical Workplaces
The Position - This role is responsible for:
- Repair and complete preventative maintenance of incoming customer and demo equipment.
- Provide field service support for the installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products for customers.
- Calibrate and service electrical or electronic medical equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
- Maintain positive, professional communication with customers, service team members and service operations group.
- Document all activities in accordance with Service policies and procedures.
- Make decisions based on policies and procedures and discuss and refer unresolved customer service issues to the Manager.
- Provide technical assistance to the Sales team.
- Protect company assets and maintain loaner and test equipment, spare parts inventory, and other company equipment and supplies in good condition and working order.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Build quality into all aspects of work.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.
- This role will be located in Mississauga, ON.
- We are looking for the following experience, knowledge, and abilities:
- Biomedical Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred.
- 13 years of experience as a field service representative, biomed, or in technical repair or related technical field.
- Strong technical proficiency in using schematics, system diagrams, and repair/replacement procedures to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all products assigned.
- Detailed oriented, excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Wellorganized and able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
- Able to present service solutions that meet customer needs.
- Exhibits a high level of critical thinking ability.
- Customeroriented and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments.
- Ability to travel internationally (Passport required).
- Ability to drive a company vehicle (valid driver's license required).
