  • Accountabilities_
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support Scotiabank's privacy program and is accountable for: completing access to information requests, providing support to business units in managing privacy incidents, and providing privacy training and awareness.
  • Access to Information Request
  • Works cooperatively with relevant business units in conducting customer access information requests in accordance with relevant privacy legislation and regulations
  • Incident & Breach Management
  • Providing support for the Bank's customerfacing business lines and/or centres to effectively manage privacy related customer complaints.
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of the President, Customer Concerns, Branch Customer Experience, Wealth Management and the Customer Contact Centres, among other units, to support complaint resolution
  • Training and Awareness
  • Assisting in the implementation of applicable internal and customerfacing privacy and related policies and guidelines.
  • Delivering ongoing privacy training and awareness to employees.
  • Working with business unit compliance officers to help promote awareness of best practices on privacy issues.
  • Monitoring and Oversight
  • Identifying privacy risks across business units and making recommendations, as well as communicating and followingup on recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Monitoring key privacy and data protection legislation, analyzing compliance requirements, and making recommendations as needed.
  • Supports the development of Key Risk Indicators and metrics and related reporting to senior management and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Experience_**- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Information Technology Certification is anasset

  • Undergraduate University Degree (preferably in business or Information technology)
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services, preferably with related work experience in Privacyor Compliance
  • Knowledgeable about global privacy and information security regulations, enforcement trendsand best practices
  • Knowledge in risk management, privacy and compliance controls and customer disputeresolution strategies
  • Analytical and high organized with strong multitasking, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Skilled in communicating both verbally and in writing to develop succinct and useful reporting oncompliance issues for a Management audience
  • Able to solicit and keep the good will and cooperation of a wide range of individuals, includingoperational and senior management, while providing advice, guidance and strategic influencingon complex privacy compliance issues.
  • Bilingual in French and English is required
