Alberta.

This position offers the opportunity to work in Tetra Tech's expanding Environment and Water Practice with a team of experienced scientists and engineers.

The focus of the position will be to provide environmental consulting services to a variety of clients throughout Western Canada.


Your Role:

  • As an Environmental Engineer / Scientist, you will prepare project plans, supervise field teams, collect and analyze field data, communicate and coordinate with contractors, prepare technical reports, and write proposals.
  • Assisting in managing work schedules and controlling budgets within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, landowners, and other third parties.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Mentoring of junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in the areas of environmental site assessment, risk management and remediation.
  • Environmental consulting experience in contaminated site assessment including monitoring well network design and installation, contaminant assessment and delineation, risk management, and remediation action plan preparation.
  • Experience in physical and contaminant hydrogeology would be an asset.
  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, or environmental science.
  • Current standing as professional member of APEGA or AIA (P.Eng., P.Geol, P.Ag), or in another Canadian province is a requirement.
  • In depth knowledge of the Alberta Tier 1 framework, and federal environmental regulations, guidelines and standards related to Contaminated Sites.
  • Strong work experience in fieldbased investigations including contaminated site assessment and remediation, and hydrogeological assessments.
  • Mechanical aptitude would be an asset for troubleshooting and problemsolving equipment in the field.
  • Demonstrated competency in soil and groundwater sampling, drilling, test pitting, monitoring well installations, aquifer testing (e.g. slug, step, pumping and packer testing).
  • Experience in analyzing groundwater flow and aqueous chemistry data and assessing contaminant behavior in groundwater.
  • Excellent communication skills: both oral and written including the quality to produce highly professional reports and proposals.
