Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Director, Finance, this position is responsible for month-end reporting, data analysis, preparing journal entries and the overall supervision and engagement of the accounting team.
Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences
Job Duties
- Prepares monthend journal entries and reconciliations (prepaid, revenue and general expenses);
- Prepares bank and general ledger account reconciliations, deposits cheques;
- Prepares monthly financial reports for government agencies;
- Provides supervision and direction to the accounting team;
- Delivers performance evaluations for direct reports;
- Responds to and resolves inquiries from management team;
- Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
Minimum Qualifications
- Post Secondary education in accounting/finance or a suitable combination of education and experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role, including the preparation and approval of journal entries necessary to record revenue sources and expenses;

Minimum 1 year Supervisory experience required;
- Thrives under mínimal supervision;
- Work experience using accounting software;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel a must;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Must be able to multitask, and meet deadlines effectively;
- Must possess excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, an ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment;
- Adaptability to work both independently and as a team player, with ability to work in an open office environment;
