we are seeking a Controller to join our accounting team in Hawkesville (just outside of Waterloo).

Our Finance team are integral members of the Chervin family and facilitate a key step in the journey of bringing our clients' dreams to life.

This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week(on site). Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.

designing, manufacturing, and installing high-end custom cabinetry in homes across Waterloo Region. Over the years, Chervin has expanded to serve the GTA and Muskoka region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in preparing the monthly/quarterly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner
  • Team player coaching and developing Finance team members and broadening the fundamental understanding of finance/accounting across the organization
  • Assist in developing processes to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead the ERP implementation (M1) from the Finance and costing perspective
  • Provide direct support to plant management team in a variety of financial, accounting and operational areas
  • Review job costing reports and data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare Cashflow reports and projections
  • Work as a representative of the Company with external authorities (eg. banks, CRA)
  • Managing processes for cashflows, financial forecasting, cost accounting, budgets, and consolidation and reporting
  • Overseeing all aspects of the Financial, Controls, and Accounting functions
  • Key business partner across all functions, providing financial and datadriven guidance to assess areas for improvement and to drive profitability
  • Assist in providing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual Forecasting and Budgeting Cycles, identifies opportunities & risks, and actively supports operational and sourcing planning to achieve results
  • Supports the President in analyzing data and to support the development and improvement strategies

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant financial experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience or exposure to inventory/cost accounting required
  • Job shop or projectbased manufacturing experience a must
  • Advanced skill in MS Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) a must
  • Indepth understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE)
  • Experience implementing ERP systems, Eci M1 an asset
