Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of shipping records;
- Assist in proper packing and shipping of items sent to the field or for repair or overhaul;
- Receive and distribute articles arriving at SGL;
- Assist in preventative maintenance of building, equipment, and groundskeeping;
- Collect and removes garbage and recyclable materials and ensure the safe disposal of hazardous waste;
- Clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots using brooms, rakes, shovels and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse. Perform minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning and watering;
- Complete and maintain related records such as maintenance logs;
- Transport equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts;
- Operates a motor vehicle to pickup, make deliveries and run various errands;
- Ensure the shipping area is clean and clear at all times;
- Understand, comply and promote all company safety precautions and policies including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Successful completion of secondary school;
- One (1) year related work experience;
- Valid clean Ontario driver's licence required;
- Ability to obtain a Transport Canada restricted airside pass, TDG and forklift certificate;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
- Forklift, working at heights and first aid certifications considered an asset;
- Computer literate with Word and Excel skills;
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills; and
- Ability to multitask, follow instructions and work with mínimal supervision.
