Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Assistant provides an advanced level of administrative and organizational support for the execution of marketing and communications initiatives and activities in the Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment office.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will coordinate communication logistics including large scale email campaigns, assist with event planning and execution, coordinate the production of collateral, develop marketing materials and communication pieces, including presentations, social media posts, and news stories and profiles, as well as manage the administrative and financial duties for the marketing and communications unit.
This position sets-up marketing campaigns and provides both website and campaign analytics on a regular basis.This position builds brand awareness by designing and maintaining department website and social media accounts.
This position implements the marketing and communication strategies by preparing and publishing advertising campaign material and the content for digital marketing channels.
Designs and maintains department website and social media accounts.Reviews analytics and makes recommendations to improve search engine optimization.
Implements the marketing and communication strategies.
Coordinates, writes, and posts content for digital marketing channels, including relevant news stories.
Prepares and publishes print and online advertising campaigns.
Coordinates social media activities and manages a digital content calendar.
Designs and creates graphics for online and printed marketing materials.
Coordinates, sets up and drives webinars and manages registration for online events.
Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Experience developing, coordinating and producing promotional and marketing material considered an asset.
Experience developing and managing marketing plans considered an asset.
Experience in graphic design and production with a familiarity of graphic/multi-media design tools and technologies considered an asset (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, ProTools, AfterEffects, etc.).
Experience in writing, interviewing, reviewing, editing and/or proofreading internal and/or external communications and documents considered an asset (e.g., social media, policy manuals, newsletters, handbooks, legal documents, forms/templates, blogs, training/reference materials, technical documents, webinars, etc.).
Experience in web design and website content development and management tools considered an asset (e.g., Experience with software and web technologies considered an asset (e.g., ServiceNow, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), other software packaging, etc.).
Practical and applied knowledge of specialized methods and processes that are typically acquired through a combination of technical or academic qualification and/or work experience.
Manage own work and may train and review the work of casual employees, work study students and/or volunteers, to see commitments through to completion.
Participate in project team meetings and develop individual project plans.Lead procedural or technological change within a unit.
Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
