What is the opportunity?

The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Waterloo is seeking an Associate Wealth Advisor to join a successful Advisory Team. You will develop and implement the team's wealth management strategy for clients.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate meetings and events for the Investment Advisor with clients and prospects: help determine agenda and key topics, prepare documentation, execute post-meeting work. Attend client meetings when required.
  • Provide proactive client service with a problem-resolution focus and attention to details. Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
  • Respond to client account inquiries and remain accountable to follow-up, as required.
  • Help build and execute business plans, client segmentation, and client service plans.
  • Identify and execute opportunities among existing client base for asset consolidation, referrals, etc.
  • Co-manage client acquisition pipeline (prospects / leads); work with advisory team to close new opportunities.
  • Deepen existing relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) through ongoing management.
  • Support advisory team and client through the Wealth Management process. Help gather relevant information, coordinate activities with Wealth Management specialists, track progress and follow up. Enter data into specific applications (e.g. myGPS).

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)
  • University degree
  • A self-directed individual with a growth and goals-oriented mindset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to Have

  • Certified Financial Planner
  • Wealth Management Essentials (CSI)
  • Successful completion of 90-day training (i.e., holds Registered Representative license with CIRO)
  • 4 years or more of professional experience within investment industry and with financial planning
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly-developed client service skills
