Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada BC Community Alliance Full time

Role:
Finance Coordinator

Temporary, Part-time (30 hours/week)
Vancouver, BC - Remote

This position is available as a part of the Canada Summer Jobs Placement program. Successful candidates must be 30 or younger, and a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible for hire.

Who we are The BC Community Alliance (BCCA) is a local Black-led, community-based, organization, formed in 2019 and registered as a non-profit in 2020, dedicated to addressing the structural inequities created by racism, especially anti-Black racism, within education settings in British Columbia.

The organization was born out of a crisis in our community, following a racist bomb threat at a Vancouver high school, Lord Byng Secondary, and recognizing the broad harm that occurred not only to Black students in the school but also felt within the broader community, especially other Black community members.

Although the 'Lord Byng incident' was a foundational moment in the formation of the BC Community Alliance, we are more accurately understood as a response to the racism that is felt by many racialized students.

Who we're looking for BC Community Alliance (BCCA) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Coordinator to join our team.

This role is essential in supporting the growth and maintenance of our organizational finance practices by assisting with financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and contributing to the overall financial health of BCCA.
