The
Junior Program Assistant, assists with the implementation of the core early learning activities of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre and will receive regular and ongoing guidance/supervision from an ECE Lead to provide field education/mentorship.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with program setup, cleanup, general health and safety of environment
- Assists with some program development and planning.
- Creates a friendly welcoming and organized environment for families
- Attends monthly team meetings
- Assists with basic EarlyON outreach and promotion efforts
- General reception/administrative duties: photocopying, laminating, registration, telephone inquires as needed.
- Assists with EarlyON outreach and promotional efforts: community fairs, Welcome to Kindergarten events, flyer distribution
- Research and design bulletin boards in classroom on mutually agreed upon topic
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Attends or recently graduated from an accredited college or university, in a social services program (ECE/ECS/BCD, social work, social services, community work, child and youth work) and/or a combination of equivalent experience and education
Experience:
- Direct work with young children and their families
- Experience working in fastpaced environment that requires multitasking and flexibility
- Experience with reception/general administrative duties
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working in a diverse setting; Ability to speak different language/s, other than English is an asset
- Strong computer skills: MS Office, Internet and Outlook
- Strong organizational abilities
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of sensitivity to diversity issues
- Flexibility and willingness to carry out tasks as needed
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Satisfactory clearance under the Police Reference Check Program
