What you will do:
Cineplex is leveraging a large volume of data to drive exceptional experiences for our guests. This role is key in ensuring that our data is well understood, trusted, and fit for business use.

The Data Governances Specialist will join our growing team of analytics experts who drive programs to drive attendance, revenue, and business opportunities.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the development and implementation of Cineplex's Data Governance Program
  • Lead and partner with Data Stewards across the organization to operationalize all aspects of Data Governance including supporting effective data decisions, escalations, and issue resolution
  • Create dashboards to provide insight into the state of our data and drive the right communication for data related matters
  • Oversee Data Quality issue prioritization and resolution
  • Analyze and understand data across data domains, on both source and target levels, and build data access process
  • Implement and maintain corporate metadata solution
  • Analyze and review any new projects understand data implications and recommend requirements from a Data perspective and ensure that Data Policies/ Standards / Practices are followed

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Considerable experience with databases and data warehousing, including organizing, compiling, manipulating, analyzing, visualizing and summarizing large datasets and their metadata
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, standards, and best practices with 3+ years in a Data Governance role
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging Data Governance tooling such as Colibra, Informatica, Ataccama, etc.
  • Advanced problemsolving skills, superior communication with the ability to lead meetings, hold workshops with senior leadership, communicate complex ideas effectively, coordinate and/or chair Data Council meetings and advocate solutions and results to technology and business audiences
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data issues; Data Management and delivering quality datasets
  • Strong ability to organize and communicate complex data findings, business process and system wide changes to a technical and nontechnical audience
  • Familiar with data governance processesData Issue and Change Management, Critical Data Management, Data Quality Management, Data Risk Classification, Metadata Management, Permissive Use Framework, Data Access and Use, Data Retention, and Deletion
