Responsibilities:

Assist in the development, execution, and maintenance of digital media
content, communication plans, and related strategies
for
Facilities & Capital Development (F&CD):

  • Create and maintain a directory of official F&CD social media sites and digital media assets
  • Plan, develop, and disseminate compelling content to promote stakeholder engagement and involvement with Facilities projects and initiatives
  • Solicit, compile, and edit content for social media postings
  • Monitor engagement, insights, and performance and provide reports and subsequent datadriven recommendations
  • Monitor social media accounts daily, identifying potential issues and accessing guidance from the Supervisor as needed

Graphic Design:

  • Design and develop original graphic imagery that expands audience engagement and supports Facilities initiatives
  • Produce and edit photographs for communications projects, marketing, and departmental websites
  • Proof and approve digital images for posting to websites, social media sites, etc.
  • Establish a unified brand identity across all visual materials, document design standards, maintain a brand guide, and advocate for F&CD brand compliance
  • Present visual interpretations of requirements to stakeholders, explain design rationale, and seek creative feedback

Facilities Support Services Functions:

  • Oversee community facility rentals by liaising with organizers, ensuring contract administration and insurance requirements, completion of forms, rental of equipment, and ensuring there are no scheduling conflicts
  • Review received documentation including special event forms, rental agreements, and certificates of insurance to ensure that hosts and vendors are compliant with the College policies and requirements
  • Assign and process work requests and maintenance calls
  • Liaise with contractors to arrange for work that requires their attention; ensure standards are withheld related to their contracted service (housekeeping, pest control, etc)
  • Gather and compile statistical data for monthly and annual reports as it relates to departmental operations

Qualifications:

  • Twoyear Diploma/Degree in Business, Graphic or Multimedia Design, Public Relations, Communications, or a related discipline
  • Minimum three years of experience designing media and creating digital content
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing and editing, web, and marketing content
  • Highly computer literate with strong Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); MS SharePoint experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to quickly master new/emerging technology tools
  • High attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge and experience producing graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans
  • Proven experience using social media, digital content, and technology to improve communications with targeted audiences
  • Experience creating and posting digital content, knowledge of web posting tools, or willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate positively and effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences
