The Events Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in coordinating webinars, workshops, and training sessions and managing all events related activities for the NF Gaza Refugees Program including strategizing, planning, and attending events.


Key Responsibilities:

Events Coordination:

  • Make calls to stakeholders and set up meetings.
  • Manage events calendar.
  • Coordinate with different departments within the company regarding events.
  • Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
  • Planning event logistics for different cities.
  • Evaluating events through guest feedback and make proper changes.
  • Assess an event's overall success and submit findings.

Workshop Development and Delivery:

  • Create workshops for families and provide 1:1 resources in the city.
  • Develop content for the workshops, including creating PowerPoint presentations.
  • Run workshops focused on life skills such as financial literacy, employment, housing, and resettlement resources.

Education/Qualification:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Event Management, Communications, Social Work, Education, or a related field
  • Previous experience in event planning, coordination, or related roles
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Muslim charity/notforprofit sector is an asset

Eligibility

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment**; and,
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • As per section 13.1(a) of the Articles of Agreement, youth hired for a Canada Summer Jobsfunded job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laidoff and are awaiting recall, employees absent due to an industrial dispute, employees on vacation, or employees on maternity or parental leave
