Job Title: Production Planning Coordinator at DRS Canada

  • Reporting to the Manager, Planning, the Planning Coordinator will perform various tactical duties to support the Production Planning team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement MRP to ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Track material from requisition to receipt of goods and prepare material status reports.
  • Track work orders on the floor and prepare Work in Progress status reports.
  • Attend material/production review meetings.
  • Raise, release, and maintain work orders.
  • Re-plan activities due to schedule/material changes.
  • Return materials to customers promptly to ensure Non-Compliance Reports are processed efficiently.
  • Interface between Programs and Manufacturing.

Requirements for Success:

  • Enrolled in Business Administration or Supply Chain and Operations Management program at a recognized post-secondary institution or possess relevant educational qualifications.
  • Hands-on experience in prior internships or work placements is advantageous.
  • Active involvement in or completion of APICS certification is beneficial.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP is crucial.
  • Understands and applies expertise in product structures, configuration control, contracts terminology, and ISO procedures.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Excel and Access.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to generate standard reports.
