As an Inside Sales Representative, your main task will be to engage with current customers through phone and email, focusing on increasing product and/or service sales by securing and boosting orders, ensuring customer satisfaction, and enhancing the overall buying experience. Your aim will be to employ proactive selling strategies to grow the business or broaden the existing account base. You will also collaborate closely with external sales to ensure alignment and achievement of goals.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Obtain orders via email and phone, validate and input items, allocate orders for processing, clarify any stock shortages, and communicate estimated delivery dates.
  • Boost sales by recommending related products, highlighting features, and reviewing customer purchase history.
  • Assume ownership of leads provided by marketing, external sales, and national accounts, assessing and cultivating these opportunities.
  • Identify areas for ongoing process enhancement to drive efficiency.
  • Prepare, produce, and track verbal or written quotations to secure orders or investigate reasons for order loss.
  • Review and manage open customer order reports, taking necessary actions on pending items, including those at risk of missing the customer's delivery deadline.
  • Maintain the backorder report in the distribution system, related customer expedited order reports, and customer notifications.
  • Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer insights to the management team.

Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred Experience and knowledge in sales and sales administration; transitioning to advanced expertise and skills, while currently operating as a fully competent professional contributor (2-4 years). Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to perform basic computer tasks. Capable of multitasking effectively. Skilled in team collaboration. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in prospecting and pitching ideas to existing and potential clients. Ability to address and resolve challenging problems, though generally not overly complex. Independent problem-solving ability, including identifying issues, proposing solutions, and selecting from existing alternatives. Self-sufficient work ethic with moderate oversight. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
