Aplin has partnered with a leader in the defense industry to hire aProcurement Representativeto join their team in Ottawa, ON. This is a 15-month contract with the opportunity for an extension.

In this role you will be responsible for both direct and indirect procurement and managing an annual spend of tens of millions of dollars in hardware, software, and services.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the required security clearances.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of requirements
  • Managing requests for quotations
  • Processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Resolving various invoicing or receiving issues
  • Acquiring and filling related documentation including security, safety, and import-export clearances

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or College Diploma or two years of supply chain or procurement related work experience
  • Ability to self-organize and work without supervision as a member of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with information technology and strong keyboard skills
  • Proficiency with the Materials Management modules of SAP software suite or equivalent tier 1 ERP system
  • Experience of procurement in a large or medium sized organization
  • Defense industry experience would be an asset
