Planner / Scheduler - CIVIL

_ Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed P6 schedule based on information provided by the workface planning and construction teams.
  • Generate required daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Lead regular Scheduling review meetings with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure that the current schedules are achievable.
  • Coordinating the overall scheduling activities on multiple projects
  • Performing manpower resource loading for assigned schedules and preparing histograms and other charts, as required.
  • Perform indepth whatif scenario analysis
  • Perform variance analysis.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

_Required Skills/Abilities:
_

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Scheduler, or Scheduler/Project Coordinator role in heavy earthworks construction or closely related civil work fields.
  • Excellent Primavera P6 skills.
  • Knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Power BI a strong asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and general proficiency in the balance of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software products.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting system is an asset.
  • Excellent change management skillset.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated exposure to construction project financials. This is the secondary skill attribute being sought.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of job costing/cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Previous experience as a project manager or project coordinator is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to write in a business tone a strong attribute.

Education and Experience:
_**- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g. Project Management, or Engineering, Mining).

  • Degree in Accounting or Business is an asset, or demonstrated exposure to significant dollar value project financial tracking and reporting.
  • Certification from AACEI or the Project Management Institute (PMI) related to scheduling, and project management an asset.
  • Be selfmotivated and confident with the ability to work independently on projects with mínimal oversight.
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written.
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
