  • Design, engineer, and deploy on a variety of RDBMS and NoSQL database technologies and platforms such as AWS RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Neptune, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Db2 LUW, SQL Server, Oracle, and other DBMS technologies
  • Create and implement efficient solutions for migrating or updating existing databases to new platforms or DBMS versions
  • Handle DB change requests and investigate and resolve issues in both production and non-production environments
  • Monitor capacity, performance, and high-availability of non-production and production databases to ensure they are reliable, cost-effective, and meet the necessary requirements
  • Identify and apply tuning measures to improve database performance.
  • Establish and manage database backup and recovery procedures. Ensure proper backup and recovery processes are in place
  • Maintain database integrity and security, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
  • Test database software upgrades and new releases, evaluating their impact on applications and the overall database environment
  • Be available to address critical issues promptly, may involve on-call duties or shifts

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a DBA with Postgres, MongoDB, Db2LUW, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a DBA with AWS RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, Neptune, DocumentDB
  • Proficient in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, database automation, and scripting tools such as AWS CDK, Github Actions, Ansible, shell scripting, python, and SQL
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
