Position Overview: To provide routine maintenance, repairs, and installations in residential and commercial structures
Job Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems and fixtures and other plumbing equipment in residential and commercial structures
- Collaborate with general contractors, electricians and other construction professionals
- Marking positions for pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors
- Follow building plans and blueprints
- Respond to, diagnose and resolve plumbing emergencies
- Preform routine inspections or plumbing and drainage systems
- Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Measuring, cutting, bending and installing pipes using hand and power tools
- Joining pipes using clamps, screws, bolts or cement
- Welding pipes; testing pipes for leaks
- May work indoors, outdoors, alone or with a team of other professionals
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used
Qualifications/Skills
- Red Seal Designation or may consider the right apprentice
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in plumbing trade
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and safety practices
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, ABS, PEX, cast iron and copper
- Deadline and detailed oriented
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and complete projects unsupervised or unassisted
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Trustworthy, Honest, Reliable
