Team Description:


As part of the Finance Team, the Accounting Team is responsible for all transactional accounting which includes the Billing Team, the core Accounting Team and Payroll.


Job Summary:

As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining our payroll systems and records from start to finish.

You will help us elevate the design, building systems and processes that will support our ecosystem as we continuously evolve.

This role could be a great fit for you if you thrive on scaling up systems while utilizing your strong organization and time management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in savings deductions such as RRSP / ASOP, earnings such as commissions / bonuses and part time hours
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income,social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Act as main point of contact for any payroll related inquiries
  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Annual T4 and W2 reporting and compliance
  • Process Record of Employments
  • Pay Cycle Variance reporting
  • Work collaboratively with People & Culture to ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll processing
  • Participate in monthend reporting and the deductionsside of benefits administration
