Steph Manos graduated from Montreal's Concordia University in with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering Hardware, and subsequently launched a business career in his early 20s. His first venture, which grew to over employees, quickly transformed him into one of Canada's most successful young tech entrepreneurs. Leveraging his experience, Steph co-founded Valsoft where he is responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions, Technology, Strategy, and Research. He is also an early investor in Valnet, a company managing some of the world's biggest entertainment content-rich web properties, including The and . Sam Youssef, a graduate from Montreal's Concordia University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, has been creating and building businesses since the age of 15. Position Description

Reporting to the President of The Valsef Dream Big Foundation, the General Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the foundation and contributing to its strategy while collaborating closely with its founders. This individual will represent the foundation in the community, enable the foundation to have a significant, meaningful, and measurable impact and execute events and initiatives that fulfill its mission. The General Manager will also build and introduce an effective structure for this well-funded foundation to continue to have a growing footprint in the Montreal community.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and execute a structure and processes to create an effective way of managing the foundation's operations. Develop, implement, and execute the appropriate reporting process, metrics, and mechanisms. Provide monthly reports and deliver presentations to the board of directors on a quarterly basis, including information regarding events and initiatives, budget and forecasts, and the impact of allocated funds on the community. Develop, implement, and execute an effective approval process to present and obtain approvals from the board of directors regarding new philanthropic requests, events, and initiatives. Prospect, identify, and evaluate potential opportunities aligned with the foundation's four core ideas and present relevant opportunities to the President and/or board of directors. Spearhead new events and initiatives aligned with the foundation's four core ideas. Be the primary point of contact for all external partners and organizations to which the foundation is connected. Build strong relationships with individuals at these organizations, discuss the structure of how we can contribute, discuss the potential impact, pitch the foundation, respond to any questions about the foundation, etc. Organize, coordinate, and represent the foundation at all events we host (including our two major annual events), sponsor or support. Manage the employee matching program across the Valsef Group portfolio companies, ensuring proper tracking and execution of matching submissions and timely communication back to the employees and business. Support timely and consistent marketing efforts, including social media activity, to provide visibility for the foundation and its impact on the community.

Candidate Profile

Experience

10+ years' experience in a family office foundation, corporate foundation, private foundation or another relevant non-for-profit organization. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, arts, communications, etc.). Experience managing various activities within a foundation (prospecting and evaluating opportunities, spearheading new initiatives, managing approval processes, managing events and initiatives, reporting, marketing, etc.). Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and building and maintaining a network within the community. Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.

Personal Characteristics

Strong interpersonal skills. Professional and effective communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Solutions-oriented, can-do work ethic, proactive, flexible, and adaptable. Bilingual (written and oral) in English and French.

Location

The position is located in Montreal, Quebec. The position will have a hybrid and flexible work schedule, enabling attendance at events supported by the foundation, as needed.
