Position Responsibilities

  • The School of Trades and Technology is looking for a Sessional Parts Technician Instructor to teach and develop curriculum in the Parts and Materials Technician Apprenticeship program

Job Duties will include:

  • Maintain, develop and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Parts Technician Apprenticeship program
  • Ongoing planning and curriculum review
  • Participate in school, program, and other polytechnic service committees
  • Program promotion and student recruitment
  • Red Deer Polytechnic's School Trades and Technology is the third largest Skilled Trades Apprenticeship training provider in Alberta, offering training in
    17 Apprenticeship trades and two
    Engineering Technology Diplomas. Required Qualifications

  • Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Parts Technician
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years postjourneyperson work experience
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
  • Comfortable with public speaking, and able to convey course topics to diverse students and learning styles

Preferred Qualifications- Experience teaching post-secondary learners through both in-person and online formats

  • Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades
