Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to speak, read and write in basic English (Level 4 Canadian Language Benchmark for applicants whose first language is not English must be provided).
- Willingness and ability to understand and follow instructions
- Mechanical skills to clean and setup equipment like a floor cleaning machine
- Must be willing and able to work in a team environment that respects the point of view of others
- Willingness and ability to work with people at all levels (e.g., front line staff, managers, senior administrators, etc.)
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be physically capable of performing the abovenoted duties.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment in and near assigned buildings
- Sweep, vacuum, dustmop, dampmop, spot clean, wash walls and remove garbage in the following areas:
- Vestibules/Entrances
- Lobbies
- Corridors
- Elevators
- Escalators
- Stairwells (Primary & Secondary)
- Cafeterias
- Move furniture
- Operate a variety of floor care machinery
