The Shipping Coordinator's primary responsibilities will be to build, pack, and seal shipments leaving the company's fast-paced shipping room, with a heavy emphasis on outbound international shipping.

Create shipping labels (mostly FedEx) for both domestic and international shipments and getting packages to the loading dock. He/she may have to use scanners, computers, and scales and is responsible for answering customer questions and fielding requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
  • Answer customer questions and field requests as necessary
  • Build skids for larger, freight shipments
  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
  • Retrieve outbound items from building occupants and bring to shipping room
  • Affix proper paperwork to each package in preparation for shipping
  • Able to navigate our online shipping system
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
  • Create invoices with global trade compliance tool
  • Partner with global trade compliance to resolve shipping issues

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years' experience in shipping operations
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment with frequently changing dynamics
  • Independent worker
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience with International shipping and Commercial Invoices is a plus
  • Shipping software (Fed Ex)
  • Knowledge of Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Class 9. Will train immediately upon hiring if not already in possession of certificates
  • Use of material handling equipment
  • SharePoint knowledege is a plus
