Our Receiving and Purchasing Team is instrumental in keeping our business moving forward.

Position Objective and scope


The
Receiver (Kitchen Hardware) position is a vital support link in the supply chain of materials and supplies (hinges, handles, nut bolts, screws) to our production plant.

The position works to ensure that the most cost-effective materials are selected, while maintaining high standards of quality that meet the requirements of Cortina Kitchens.

Day to day duties may include receiving, purchasing support, vendor selection and ensuring materials are available for production scheduling. Other duties include cage (inventory) management, receiving, accurate storage, inventory control and material handling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Purchasing Manager and peers to ensure the daytoday efficiencies of the receiving department, cage inventory, flow of paperwork / tracking and interaction of Vendors.
  • Safely receive, move and store deliveries as they arrive.
  • Match packing slip against orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Possess current working knowledge of all assigned vendor lines.
  • Maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate fill rate is available.
  • Advise Purchasing Manager on out of stock items, informs production staff of estimated availability.
  • Advise operation and manufacturing personnel of outstanding and potential issues with inventory and estimated availability.
  • Read production order(s) and prepare requirements for next day's assemblies.
  • Foster positive relations and communications with warehouse, receiving, sales, and accounting personnel.

SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in Kitchen / Bathroom Purchasing is a must.
  • Must have Forklift Certification / Experience.
  • Minimum of 1 2 years of related Receiving Experience.
  • Ability to speak, write and comprehend English.
  • Physically able to lift 50pound boxes and materials.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently.
  • Ability to differentiate levels of urgency.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload.
  • Some computer skills (especially Excel).
  • Excellent math skills; firm grasp on basic accounting.
