Your Opportunity:


Come and be part of an evolving multidiscipline team building on the foundation of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Liver programs at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

This advanced clinical position will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team will provide counselling services to individuals and groups living with chronic gastrointestinal and liver disease.

The position requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team. Clinical assets include CBT and SFT perspectives and EMDR training. Providing individual counselling, crisis intervention, and group psychotherapy to adults with a range of mental health challenges. You are flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, and will be skilled in providing mental health interventions.

Treatment knowledge and skill set must encompass both addictions and mental health while demonstrating the ability to exercise a variety of clinical modalities.

The role will include a caseload of one to one clients, possibly facilitating group psychotherapy.

Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment

Your services may include:
psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as education activities.

You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practice and ethical and professional standards.

You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consults/collaborates with teams and community services.

Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

2 years experience in mental health settings. Experience working in rural settings. EMDR experience.
