Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, this role will be required to take direction and seek input from several managers.
As the Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be supporting the management and maintenance of the Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
Periodically evaluating jobsite, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standardsLeading the development of the safety training program along with maintenance of the Site Safety Plans
Managing HSE Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and subcontractor management programs
Assist Project Managers in development of project HSE plans and providing support to Regional Managers and General Superintendents
Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) along with reviewing/maintaining emergency response plans and procedures
Develop materials for and conduct new employee health and safety orientations
Assist in administrative tasks such as data entry and forms management
2-5 years of experience in Health and Safety role in the construction industry
~ Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
~ National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) is an asset
~ ISO 9000 certificate is an asset
~ NHSA schooling or certification is an asset
~ Experience with Health & Safety software (Salus, SiteDocs, WorkHub, EHS Insight or Intelex, ISN)
~ Excellent computer skills; Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Focused on details, highly organized and works effectively with shifting priorities
