Reporting to the Manager, Perioperative Services, the staff nurse's role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and nursing activities within the framework of quality management aligned with the mission statement of University Hospital of Northern BC.

The role is tailored to meet the needs of the Hospital, a specific patient/family group, agency expectations, and the objectives for professional nursing practice.

New Wage:
As of April 1, 2024, the updated hourly wage is $59.52.

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility in Northern Health with 268 beds, serving as the central hub for specialized health services. It houses a cutting-edge cancer center for Northern BC, offering a diverse range of cancer treatments. Additionally, UHNBC provides medical training for undergraduate physicians through the Northern Medical Program, which is a collaboration between the University of British Columbia and the University of Northern British Columbia. It also serves as a vital clinical education site for nursing and various health sciences students from UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT, and other educational institutions.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
