The Role

  • Reporting to the Central Operations Director, this role will work with VetStrategy's Hospitals and Field Operations to understand current inventory control practices, identify opportunities, create processes, provide training and support, and yield consistent, accurate physical inventory results and strong controls that will improve better financial results / reporting accuracy in the the clinics.
  • This role will require an actionoriented selfstarter who has demonstrated intellectual curiosity and deep interest in the ability to drive process improvement. The Inventory Analyst will bring experience in similar roles and is comfortable in a wide variety of situations with constant change and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective partnerships with Practice Managers and Field Operations Team in order to develop understanding of opportunities to improve inventory management processes
  • Management / Review of current Physical Inventory Procedure to determine changes that will better inventory control within the hospitals
  • Analyze Physical Inventory Count results to determine the root cause of opportunities in order to assist with supporting the bettering of results
  • Creation of training materials / procedures specific to multiple Practice Management Software inclusive of: order points (item minimums and maximums), receiving protocols, damages / product returns, purchasing, and count protocols.
  • Development of processes to streamline inventory management to both existing clinics and new acquisitions
  • Create a plan to streamline inventory control complete with timelines and deliver upon that plan
  • Monitor inventory levels within clinics in order to identify "opportunity clinics" and assist with better controls
  • Creation of inventory reports (as required)
  • Partner with external resources as required to assist with development of procedures and training materials

Background, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role preferred
  • Postsecondary education in a related field or a combination of education and experience related to the role
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and comfort communicating across all levels of the organization
  • Prior experience facilitating training to varying sized groups
  • Prior experience with inventory management in veterinary medicine or similar industry in a similar role
  • Ability and/or willingness to learn and understand finance principles (COGs, costs accounting, etc EBITDA, etc)
  • Passionate Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude are a must
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google
  • Working knowledge of various Practice Management Software (Logivet, Avimark, Cornerstone, Infinity, etc ) an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is highly desirable
