REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Humanities or in progress, preferably from a BC postsecondary institution

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing tutoring support for students regarding writing/citations, assignments, examinations, projects, and presentations in a small group setting or on an individual basis, online or in person.
  • Teaching academic skills workshops to classes online or in person; timely marking Reviewing citations styles with students and helping them avoid plagiarism; reporting plagiarism to instructors and Writing & Learning Centre Manager
  • Assisting the Academic Integrity Officer by holding remediation workshops for classes of up to 25 students; timely marking and filing of reports and workshop materials.
  • Being an integral part of the Writing & Learning Centre by creating online resources applicable to courses in Humanities and participating in efforts to promote the Writing and Learning Centre.
  • Invigilating course examinations while showing reasonable flexibility with respect to scheduling during each semester's examination period
  • Performing general administrative duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the Writing and Learning Centre Manager and College Administration
