We are looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our Chatham or Toronto team

This highly visible position provides you with an opportunity to lead some of Enbridge Gas' largest projects and portfolios.

The Specialist will manage projects in varying complexities, work closely with customers, provide mentorship to team members, and build strategies that will grow our business.


What You Will Do:

  • Build and develop long term strategy focused on growing the Dawn hub through the Storage and Transmission (S&T) Facilities Growth Program through an extensive understanding of the North American natural gas market.
  • Lead the annual capital budget cycle and long-range plan for S&T asset growth including supporting Asset Management processes.
  • Develop new growth investment opportunities by attracting new suppliers and customers and manage large/complex projects with a broad stakeholder team from across Enbridge Inc. while advising cross-functional committees.
  • Draft evidence supporting project approvals related to market dynamics, project scope, need and alternative evaluations.
  • Develop industry and customer relationships by providing key account support during construction and by providing post completion support leading to additional business development opportunities or additional projects.
  • Support all internal and external teams pre, during and post project execution as required to provide relationship continuity.

Who You Are:
You will bring the following combination of education and experience:

  • Related university degree (Engineering, Commerce, Business and/or equivalent) with 7 or more years of experience in project management, business, finance, contract negotiations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a strong financial eye for business and decision effectiveness.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, flexibility and an ability to consider ambitious business models objectively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop meaningful relationships with external customers to identify business opportunities for Enbridge Gas as well as with internal partners.
  • Agile and able to drive large project teams through complex issues.

The following would be an asset:

  • Extensive knowledge of North American natural gas markets
  • Operational understanding of the Dawn hub storage system and main transmission systems at Enbridge Gas.
  • Familiarity with storage and transportation services at Enbridge Gas.
  • Commercial background in natural gas markets.

Working Conditions:

  • 15% travel to other Enbridge offices and customer locations. Travel may be flexible to accommodate schedules and/or other commitments.
