NS Power utilizes an innovation framework to evaluate, prioritize, and test new ideas and solutions for our customers.

We are looking for an
Innovation Administrator to join our Customer Engineering and Innovation team to help manage this innovation framework and accelerate the development and adoption of new offerings.

Reporting to the Director, Customer Engineering and Innovation, you will join a team of professionals focused on developing new and innovative energy solutions for our customers.

The role will be actively engaged on cross functional teams within NSP to gather, evaluate and track ideas throughout the development lifecycle from ideation to operationalization.


Key elements of this role include:

  • Provide administrative support and coordination to the Customer Engineering and Innovation team's innovation program.
  • Ensure new opportunities adhere to the framework and that all documentation is maintained appropriately for each opportunity.
  • Provide regular reporting on the status of all opportunities within the innovation portfolio.
  • Support and coach employees to learn, adopt and leverage the framework.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting and reporting for opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Evaluate and monitor existing procedures for effectiveness and identify, recommend, and implement improvements to the innovation program as appropriate.
  • Work closely with external funding partners to develop mutually beneficial opportunities and track progress on mutual investments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from both capital and investment planning and project delivery. This would include supporting and collaborating on financial forecasting (profiles and accruals), program and project prioritizations, as well as collaborating with vendors on contracts, Statements of Work, service agreements and other related legal or procurement activities.
  • Develop and enhance innovation capabilities within the team and across the business.
  • Be responsible for your personal safety and that of your coworkers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Economic, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience.
  • Portfolio and/or program management experience.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in workplace productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Assets:

  • Experience in innovation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of modern and emerging energy solutions and services (e.g. Battery energy storage systems, solar, emobility.)
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies. Certification in project management would be an asset.
  • Regulated utility experience.
  • Proficiency in document management within SharePoint or equivalent systems.
  • Experience in integrating software platforms, software development methodologies and tools.
