Social Worker MSW - DASATemporary Full-Time (Approximately 13 Months) The Social Worker, Domestic Assault Sexual Assault will practice within the interprofessional team model and will be responsible for providing psychosocial support, counseling and safety planning to clients 12 years and older; who have experienced recent sexual assault/abuse or domestic violence.

The Social Worker will also provide support and education to family members affected by assault/abuse; with the goal of assisting clients and their families achieve optimal functioning throughout the continuum of care.

Contribute to safe, quality care byConducting individual intake interviews with clients and family members affected by sexual abuse and intimate partner violence to assess treatment needs.

Completing bio-psycho-social assessments and formulate treatment plans.
Providing intensive short-term counseling utilizing evidence based trauma therapies under best practice guidelines.
Advocating for and assist with obtaining basic human needs.
Arranging services with other agencies or community resources and recommend further treatment.
Serving as a resource in the community for information regarding sexual abuse and intimate partner violence.

Participating in regional committees working toward ending sexual and intimate partner violenceWhat must you have?Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services WorkersMaster's degree in Social Work from an accredited University What else do you bring?Demonstrates expertise in trauma and issues related to abuse and assault.

Experience facilitating psycho-educational groups an asset.
Advanced interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills.

Proven attendance record.
