Description:

The role of Powertrain Controls Engineer - Intermediate involves the development of new features and enhancements to existing algorithms. Working closely with a diverse team, this position requires utilizing various tools (vehicle, HIL, Dyno, Virtual, rapid prototyping) following the V-model development process to ensure the quality and reliability of production algorithms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to grasp requirements thoroughly
  • Creating and deploying high voltage energy management strategies
  • Evaluating and documenting control algorithms according to regulatory standards
  • Adjusting models to meet functional requirements
  • Validating control algorithms throughout the production phase
  • Monitoring project progress by devising plans, tracking advancements, and presenting technical updates to management and project leaders
  • Contributing to control strategy decisions to meet functional goals
Requirements:

Applicants should hold a Master's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields from an accredited institution, along with - years of pertinent engineering experience. Alternatively, a PhD in the mentioned disciplines with practical industry-focused research involvement is necessary. Key requirements comprise:

  • Hands-on experience in control algorithm development
  • Proficiency in simulating dynamic systems using MATLAB/Simulink or similar software
  • Familiarity with electrified powertrain and high voltage battery systems
  • Capability to collaborate efficiently with global teams remotely
Preferred Requirements:

The ideal candidate should also have the following qualifications:

  • Understanding of classic control theory
  • Familiarity with optimization theory and optimal control
  • Impressive interpersonal abilities and adept problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the role and a proactive attitude
  • Self-motivated individual capable of cross-functional collaboration
  • Flexibility to travel to the US for in-person meetings (up to times per month) is advantageous
